Stay Stylish in Texas Heat: Spring/Summer 2025 Trends

As a Texas resident, the months that make up the two seasons of spring and summer can be miserable due to the heat. While the heat reigns on, there is something that doesn’t have to be miserable- your fashion sense.

In the fashion world spring and summer are often grouped together. You see this in fashion shows as they are titled with their collection and season.

For example, “Gucci s/s 25” or “Chanel a/w 25”

With this in mind, know that your wardrobe does not have to change from spring to summer. In fact, the clothes you wear for both seasons should be able to co-exist.

If you live somewhere like me where the heat can make wearing clothes in general uncomfortable, then know that you can always make adjustments.

Say you see an outfit on Pinterest that you love, but it looks like something that would make you hot, adjust to make sure you are both stylish and comfortable.

For example, a jean could be replaced by shorts or linen pants.

So now let’s talk about fashion!

Isabel Marrant Style

This style is inspired by the designer Isabel Marrant. It combines bohemian and Parisian chic. This style is made up of ruffles, mesh, boots, layers, and more. This type of style is also coined as “street style boho.” As you look at this kind of style, note the pieces in the outfits that live up to the coined name!

Sequins & Shimmer

Take note that this trend is coined as “Ibiza vacation” on social media; however, this trend in fact stems from Desi/ South Asian culture.

This is a trend that partners with your next beach vacation! When looking at this trend on TikTok, a lot of wearers are choosing wardrobes of shimmering clothes to bring with them to their next vacation. There are even some lovers of this trend who are making their own sequin skirts! As you see this extravagant trend this s/s 25, know that you can always participate as well- it’s time for you to sparkle.

Stripes, but make it nautical!

Stripes were fashionable this past a/w 24 in a business casual way. This season, stripes have become popular in a sea-style way! Popeye has come full circle, but we don’t need to eat spinach to enjoy this trend. This trend is typically seen in navy and white, but stripes can be seen an a vast amount of colors this season as well. Make note, navy is a trending color this season. Gingham- old and new!

While I initially call this trend “gingham,” I do need to make a slight adjustment and instead say “plaid” as some of these patterns are more plaid than they are gingham. Gingham is again trending in blue and red shades- picnic tables hate to see you coming. The newest take is how the pattern has gotten larger. So when you are choosing a gingham this s/s 25, ask yourself: original print or what’s new?

Here are some trends I see on the rise:

Peplum or Babydoll tops

While we have seen bubble hems in past trends, this hem I see becoming popular in tops soon. This top is typically strapless (from the pieces I have seen), and it can be seen in both a solid and patterned way. Green

The color green is going to be everywhere! When looking at Pantone’s colors of the season there are 3 different greens that are going to be trending. With this being said, use green to accessorize, as your main piece, or as a pop of color. Remember, Shrek and Fiona are not the only ones who can look good in green!
