Fall is here, and with fall comes, well, fall fashion.
I feel like I might be alone when I say that I am not a fan of fall. I unfortunately do not like fall scents, flavors, or colors so when fall approaches, I find it best to find trends that cater to both fall fashion and my personal taste.
If you are someone like me who does not prefer fall or you would like to make your fall fashion unique then this post is for you!
So lets dive in to some trends…
Colored tights– tights are a valued member of our wardrobe and typically make an appearance during business settings, when the weather turns colder, or when a hemline is too short. During fall, one or all of these situations may bring you to wearing a pair of tights. This fall, let’s try a colorful or patterned pair of tights as a statement to your outfit rather than the standard flesh and black colors.

Nautical (k)Nits– this summer, we saw a huge nautical trend. There were seashells and sequins everywhere (ex. “Ibiza vacation” outfits) as well as the color navy! Some may say it is a little tacky to wear seashells and overall beachy items during a season like fall or winter. To that, we tell them to PIVOT- as Ross from friends said. Knits are one of the best things to break out of the closet when the weather turns colder, but for a unique take on a typical fall/winter material, lets turn the knit nautical!

Its a pearl, its a brooch, its an.. Embellishment– I think it is very chic to embellish just about everything clothing wise- a hat, a pair of jeans, a purse, or even a tie. This adds such a cool spin on your clothing and can make something as simple as a neck tie have more personality- your personality. As the weather gets colder, be sure to not hide your personality behind your layered fashion.

Prints and patterns– most notably, animal prints become super popular when fall and winter come around. Considering that leopard print and zebra print have the coloring of shades typically associated with fall/winter, this makes sense. BUT, animal print is not the only pattern that trends or can be a statement to any outfit. Choose a pattern that makes you feel like your personality is on display in your fashion, whether it be a leopard spot, a plaid stripe, or even a polka dot!

Adding texture- This fashion trend comes about in a boho kind of fashion normally in the spring/summer (thanks to brands like Isabel Marrant). The resurgence that is out and about in 2025 is seen more as an accessory or as an elevated minimalist piece (think white crochet top rather than plain white tee). Fall and winter provides a means for layering or wearing heavier fabrics and utilizing a texturizing fabric (such as crochet, lace, mesh, or fringe) can create a break in your outfit- whether it be in a top, bottom, or accessory.

If you notice, a lot of these photos have multiple of these trends combined in to one outfit! It is up to you, the maximalist fashion lover, to decide what you will mix and create!
